The Big move
2020/2021 was a crazy and unprecedented time for everyone across the world with Covid 19 ruling over our lives. Originally the unknowing uncertain time however working from home was a god send and I carried on taking on repair work and making guitars. During time I uplifted and moved house and had to move workshop so I packed up the shop with some help from friends and moved into a new space which I am currently operating out of. It took a while to adjust to the new work environment but I feel I finally have space how I like it to get going again.
Enter the Scotsman
During the 2021 Summer just after the move I made plans with a good friend of Mine Ben Mcginty from Lighthouse instruments to come down and stay for a week and see if we can make two guitars in 5 days . Some early starts and late finishes we almost achieved our goal we got the core aspects of the guitars finished it is just left for me to make the final touches. These builds where made from local Southampton black poplar for the bodies, Pommel Sapele for the tops and neck with a baked flame maple fret board.
It was truly wonderful having Ben down for the week and sharing a workshop together and seeing how two people can approach the same job differently at times and still get the same result.
